Magma Products are an international oil and gas engineering consultancy specialising in Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning / Start-Up and Operations Support to the offshore industry. Due to substantial contract wins for Major Operators we Instrument Commissioning Engineers to join our pre-commissioning process team and assume responsibilities for the continuous improvement and support the safe and efficient operation of our clients fixed platform assets in various offshore locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing day to day support and modification and maintenance management ensuring assurance, verification and compliance to standards.
- Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view of continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
- Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures, standards and regulations.
- Ensure that all allocated responsibilities are dealt with in accordance with agreed procedures & standards. Maintain technical integrity.
- Production of cost effective Instrument engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in work packs and design books in conjunction with other members of the project team in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support the Lead Engineer in department activities.
- Sizing and selection of all types of modulating and on/off control valves, MOV’s and checking and confirming sizing and selection by third parties
- Sizing and selection of level devices (DP, Nuclear, GWR, Displacer, conductivity etc.) and checking sizing and confirming selection by third parties
- Sizing and selection of pressure devices and checking and confirming sizing and selection by third parties
- Sizing and selection of flow devices (DP, Ultrasonic, turbine, nozzle, venture, vortex, pitot, EMF and Coriolis Mass flow etc.) and checking sizing and confirming selection by third parties
- Selecting analysers of all types (Gas, Liquid, Fire, Smoke, Heat, LEL etc.)
- Coordinate and perform measurement systems Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), witnessing of verification / calibration activities and assessment, to ensure that the measurement systems are being operated and maintained.
- Lead a team to undertake commissioning activities in small projects.
- Interfaces with other disciplines to ensure integration of activities.
- Implement & test the subsystems as per project commissioning test sheets.
- Preparation of method statements, procedures and routines where required.
- Interface towards pre-commissioning and Company personnel.
- Reports on work progress, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommends solutions.
- Assist during the database preparation for pre-commissioning status index and commissioning technical database.
- Plan, Monitor and assist in Vendor activities as required.
- Ensure temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for the subsystem testing. Perform inter-discipline checks.
- Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.
Role Requirements
- MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, or equivalent with relevant considerable experience or Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent
- 10 years commissioning experience within the oil and gas industry
- Familiar with and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
- Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work.
- Current Offshore Survival Certificate.
- Current Offshore Medical Certificate
